Eligibility for the KIDS Program is based on the results of a Developmental Evaluation and other criteria established by North Dakota State Department of Human Services, Developmental Disabilities Division. Children between the ages of birth through two years who have a developmental delay due to a diagnosed medical condition also may be eligible for services.
The services are provided by professionals in early childhood special education, early childhood speech pathology, physical or occupational therapy, and other disciplines. One staff is designated to be the Primary Service Provider, who supports the caregivers and the child's learning in all areas utilizing natural learning opportunities. Other professionals provide consultation services.
